In the Natural

In a season that was dominated by the bright colours and prints of florals, it was time to return to the more subtle elements of nature in fashion. Looks that celebrate earthy tones and woven textures, from canvas wedge heels to organic cotton, are the season’s celebratory ode to Mother Nature.
The nature inspired pieces of spring are relaxed but functional and fresh. A traveler chic mode that has been incorporated into the everyday woman’s wardrobe. One staple that has endured the test of time is the crisp and tailored safari-style jacket for women of all ages and lifestyles. In khaki, olive green or brown, this jacket is especially fresh when paired with cool white cotton and polished accessories. Handbags in straw or brown distressed leather are a textured complement to such an outfit, and cuffs in wood, bamboo or tortoiseshell add the right touch of sophistication. Also look for elements of stone, cork and woven canvas to complete a natural look. The colours which are most popular from this trend are an array of neutrals, khakis and dark golds which are attractive against all skin tones and silhouettes.
Another way to incorporate the nature inspired trend into your wardrobe is investing in eco-conscious clothing. Toronto-based streetwear JUZD Clothing offers an interesting eco-friendly line of nature-inspired graphic tees for men and women at reasonable prices and with many prints to choose from. Additionally, H&M is offering a trend conscious and environmentally friendly line of organic cotton clothes for women including A-line dresses; tunics t-shirts and jeans made from organic cotton.
